JOSH CAVAZOS has a passion for creating music that takes listeners on an all immersive, encompassing, and emotional journey. At age 15, he began composing music in response to his grandmother undergoing successful cancer treatment and has since written, arranged, and produced countless pieces throughout his career. Josh is inspired as a composer by large scale ideas and global relief efforts that are most dear to him. His goal is to provide a musical outlet of peace and joy to the world around him, through custom scoring, music production, and independent compositions.

Josh owns and operates a recording studio out of his home, where he is frequently called upon to produce and score music in styles such as cinematic, modern pop, orchestral, and contemporary worship. In the summer of 2023, Josh completed work as a co-composer on the new season of “Tetelestai,” a Brazil based, Christian multimedia series. In this season, Josh contributed over two hours of custom scores on 26 episodes. Josh was also called upon to score “The 13 Day Prayer Challenge” in 2022, a collection of 13 multimedia episodes based on the ministry experiences and prayer teachings of global evangelist, Sammy Tippit. Josh is currently working on scoring a two year project called “The Daily Devotions” for Sammy Tippit Ministries. In the summer of 2023, he was also awarded the Artist Grant by the City of San Antonio, to produce and compose the score to “Prayers For Cassie,” a mini documentary that will benefit cancer therapy. This documentary will also feature a duet between Josh and Tina Guo, solo cellist to Hans Zimmer.

Collaborating with notable musicians, videographers, and producers in San Antonio, Josh’s independent composition, “The Cure,” was released as a cinematic presentation in the Spring of 2021 and honors those whose lives have been lost to Covid-19. In 2020, he had the honor of composing a theme song for the Any Baby Can of San Antonio Gala, benefitting families of children with special needs.

Josh is also Music Director of Alamo City Church, where his responsibilities include leading all teams in the music department, singing lead and background vocals, playing piano, arranging charts, and orchestrating custom production tracks.

Josh resides in San Antonio, Texas with his wife Allison, who is a high school choir director, and their 2 young children.  They enjoy traveling, being outside, and eating pizza every Friday night.
